I had the chance recently to use GroundWiz together with Vray for planting trees on a 3d model to simulate natural context on a 500m x 500m sloped terrain model. The GroundWiz plugin works great. You can basically paint hundreds of trees in a Photoshop like fashion onto a 3d surface in minutes. It’s such a huge time saver compared to planting those trees manually that it’s absolutely worth the money from the first minute. Because you can use Vray proxies instead of copied or instanced geometry in your 3ds max file it allows you as well to use highly detailed trees and render billions of triangles.
