This exhibition displays and highlights designs and projects by the Stuttgard-based Behnisch Architekten and Transsolar KlimaEngineering.
“Behnisch Architekten and Transsolar Klimaengineering have been collaborating for many years in pursuit of an environmentally responsive architecture. Works extend from architectural competitions to large-scale realized projects both in Germany and abroad. Current common projects include Harvard’s Allston Science Complex in Cambridge, MA; Senscity Paradise Universe in Las Vegas, NV; Thermal Baths, Bad Aibling, Germany; and the Arizona State University Gateway Project in Tempe, AZ.
This collaborative design approach is founded on the shared belief that high-quality built environments can be achieved through the responsible use of natural resources. Curiosity, commodity and delight drive an innovative process combining technical advancements with passive design measures.
The exhibition, entitled ‘Ecology.Design.Synergy’, attempts to address the widespread and misleading quantitative interpretation of the term “sustainability” by highlighting the manifold aspects of sustainability that constitute important qualities in themselves. The selected projects are presented in a manner that illustrates the working methods, the results of previous collaborations, and perspectives for the future.”

The dates of a lecture series on sustainable architecture with international participants will be announced soon.
