Living Building Standard Version 2.1 Posted – Only Minor Updatesby Jens Voshage on May 4, 2012 • 02:41 No Comments
Living Building Challenge is a philosophy, advocacy tool and certification program that addresses development at all scales. It is comprised of seven performance areas: Site, Water, Energy, Health, Materials, Equity and Beauty. These are subdivided into a total of twenty Imperatives, each of which focuses on a specific sphere of influence.
Version 2.1 of the Living Building Standard, posted May 1, 2012, offers only minor updates from version 2.0. Language from version 2.0 was updated to reflect the 2011 creation of the International Living Future Institute. Also, the “Additional Resources” section of the standard (pp. 43-48) was updated and expanded with summaries of the Institute’s many tools and resources for deeper engagement with the Living Building Challenge. Lastly, some footnotes in the standard we updated to direct readers to additional information.
